On March 25 the head of the Conservation, Restoration and Binding Service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the coordinator of the IFLA/PAC Regional Center for Central Asia, Ph. Sh. and the Service's specialists participated in an online meeting of the directors of regional PAC Centers together with members of the Standing Committee and partners of the IFLA Headquarters, which considered ways to improve communication and increase the significance of documentary cultural heritage, as well as expand work in this direction.

IFLA redesigned the cultural heritage web page, streamlining the information and refining the layout for the documentary cultural heritage, and also reported that the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones (ALIPH) had opened a competition for projects related to the protection of heritage that is endangered or has suffered from negligence caused by conflict. This project competition is open from February 12 to April 16, 2021. Specific projects may include, but are not limited to, damage assessment, recovery plans, emergency stabilization, rehabilitation, capacity-building, awareness-raising and disaster risk reduction.

It was noted that this is only part of the efforts aimed at preserving the cultural documentary heritage. More details on the directions * Protection of Cultural Heritage; * Support for conservation and access; *Committees and groups on Cultural Heritage; available at www.ifla.org.

The Advisory Committee on Cultural Heritage also encourages regional centers to nominate candidates to work with documents on the IFLA Risk Register.

IFLA headquarters is looking forward to proposals for expanding cultural heritage work, along with the many volunteers, Standing Committee members, and partners who make all this possible.
