On November 10, at 11.00 a.m., a memorial evening will be held in the N.Dauletova Hall and a book exhibition “Tarikh gylymynyn tarlany”, dedicated to the 90-th birthday of the outstanding scientist-historian, doctor of science (history), professor, honored figure of science of Kazakhstan, academician of the National academy of sciences of the RK Manash Kabashevich Kozybayev.

Manash Kabashevich Kozybayev was born on November 16, 1931 in the village of Tazkol (Aidyn-kol) of the Mendygarinskiy district of the Kostanayskaya region. In 1953 he graduated with honours from the historical faculty of the Kazakh state university after S.M. Kirov (now the Kazakh national university after Al-Farabi).

In 1958 the young scientist was invited to work to the Institute of history of the party at the CC of the Communist party of Kazakhstan, where he went up from senior scientific worker to the well-known scientist , doctor of science (history), professor.

The merits of M. Kozybayev in the development of domestic historical science and his state and public activity by rights are marked by the high state awards. The honored figure of science of Kazakhstan (1986). There for the cycle of the works on topical problems in the history of Kazakhstan he was awarded the State prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1995). For the active and fruitful activity he was awarded the high title of the winner of the Presidential prize of peace and spiritual concordance (1997).

There in the fond of National library of the RK are kept about 2000 editions about the life and activity of M. Kozybayev, his scientific works, monographs, speeches at the scientific congresses, conferences, the scientific and publicistic articles on the pages of periodical editions. 

There in the evening of memory “Tarikh gylymynyn tarlany” will participate the prominent scientists, representatives of intelligentsia, relations, teachers of colleges and universities and the readers. There in the rpogramme of the activity are: the demonstration of the documentary film about Manash Kozybayev, given by the relations of the scientist, the review of the book exhibition “Tarikh gylymynyn tarlany” from the fond of National library of the RK. The purpose of the book exhibition is the popularization and acquaintance with the life and scientific activity of the prominent scientist.  

The exhibition reflects the scientific-pedagogical, public and state activity of M.Kozybayev. he was one of the brightest representatives of the Kazakhstani historical science, the large organizer of science of Kazakhstan. The author of more than 800 scientific and scientific-popular works, including 30 monographs, more than 50 collective works, text-books and study manuals. There among his multiple works an especial place is occupied by the fundamental monograph “Kazakhstan – arsenal of the front”, published in 1970.

Huge attention M. Kozybayev paid also tot eh scientific-pedagogical work. He prepared the whole pleiad of talented scientists - candidates and doctors of science, he created the scientific school for the research of the topical problems of the history of sovereign Kazakhstan. Among his pupils there are prominent scientists of China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Russia.

There at the book exhibition are exposed the editions in which M. Kozybayev is a member of the editorial collegiate, the permanent author of “The news of National Academy of sciences of the RK” (the series of social sciences), “The herald of the NAS of the RK”, the magazine “Kazak tarikhy”, “Akikat”, the founder of the newspaper “Kazakstan - Zaman” and a number of other editions. There are also presented the publications of the scientist printed in different years and the recollections of his relations and near friends, colleagues on the pages of the periodical editions.
