In the hall for scientists named after U. M. Sultangazin of the «Kazakhstan Kitaptary» Service, was organized a book exhibition «Geologyа  salasynyn sanlagi», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Honored Scientist of the Kazakh SSR, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, geologist engineer A.A. Abdulin

Aitmukhamed Abdulin was born on November 29, 1924 in the village of Ulytau, Ulytau district, Karaganda region. He lost his parents in early childhood and was brought up in an orphanage. After graduating from high school, he volunteered for the front of the Great Patriotic War. After the victory over Nazi Germany, he was sent to the east – to the war with Japan.Having returned as the winner of two wars in the officer rank, A. Abdulin was appointed the first secretary of the Bostandyk district committee of the Komsomol of the Shymkent region. In 1948, he entered the Geological faculty of the Kazakh State University. After graduation, he was sent to the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, then headed by K. I. Satpayev himself.

A.Abdulin began his scientific activity with the study of gold-copper-tourmaline deposits in Central Kazakhstan, based on the materials of which his PhD thesis was successfully defended in 1958. The results of A. Abdulin's dissertation works subsequently formed the basis for the discovery of one of the largest deposits of complex ores for copper, gold and molybdenum – the Samara deposit.

Abdulin defended his doctoral dissertation «Geology of Mugojar» in 1971. Later it was framed in the form of a monograph of the same name. In 1978, a group of scientists led by A. Abdulin was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR for the work «Comprehensive studies of the Mugodjar crust and the problems of the connection between the tectonic structures of the Urals, Tien Shan and Central Kazakhstan».

Abdulin personally and co-authored and published 10 monographic works, as well as more than 300 scientific articles. The most important generalizing works are such monographs as: «Geology of Mugojar», «Geology of Kazakhstan», «Tectonics of the Sakmar and Or-Ilek Mugojar zones», «Tectonics of the area of articulation of structures of the Urals, Tien Shan and Central Kazakhstan», «Geodynamics of the Earth's crust of Kazakhstan», «The most important features of geology and metallogeny of the Urals-Mongolian folded belt», «Geology and mineral resources of Kazakhstan» (1994).

For the last monograph, he was awarded the K. I. Satpayev First Prize.

Abdulin was awarded the Orders of the October Revolution, the Red Banner of Labor, the Patriotic War of the first degree, two Orders of the Red Star, «Kurmet», «Otan», medals, Diplomas of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, laureate of State Prizes of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a diploma and badges «Discoverer of the deposit», «Excellent student of subsoil exploration».

The purpose of the exhibition is to familiarize with the great contribution of the scientist to the study of geology and science of the Kazakh people, popularization and preservation of the scientific heritage of the outstanding personality Aitmukhamed Abdulin.
