In the reading room of the art department, a book exhibition «Kui keniter konildin kokzhiegin» was organized, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, kuishi, dombrist, researcher of Kazakh music Bekenov Uali Kaliakparovich.

Uali Kaliakparovich Bekenov was born on November 15, 1934 in China. His place of birth is Akterek village, in Sarshoky locality of Urumqi district of Xinjiang region.

He graduated from the teachers' gymnasium in Urumqi (1951), the Semipalatinsk Music College (1956), the Almaty Conservatory (now the Kazakh National Conservatory) (1965). In 1951-52 he performed in the Xinjiang Song and Dance Ensemble, in 1952-55 in the Beijing Central National Song and Dance Ensemble. After graduating from the conservatory, working as the head of the scientific and methodological office of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, he collected and transferred to the notes of kui-shertpe Arki and Karatau. Since 1981, he has been teaching at the Republican Music School.

His books «Kuy koterer konildin kokzhiegin» (1975), «Shertpe kuy sheberleri» (1977), «Orken zhaygan kobyz oneri» (1980), «Kuy tabigaty» (1981), «Tattimbet. Sarzhailau» (1988), «Aspaptau» (1989) and others. U. Bekenov is the author of the kuis «Zhengey Suyer», «Eren tolgau», «Kui ansagai», «Bozdagym».

Bekenov recorded in 1984, shifting to notes, kuis akyn G. Sarmurzin «Toryzhorga», «Mai tuni».

The purpose of the exhibition is to acquaint readers with the life and creative heritage of Bekenov Uali Kaliakparovich, to increase interest in national art.

The book exhibition presents notes on the life of U. Bekenov from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, books and periodicals, kuis.
