On April 23, 2025, within the framework of the National Book Day celebrated for the first time, as well as in honor of the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev and the 150th anniversary of his son, an outstanding public figure and publicist Turagul Abayuly, a scientific and educational meeting entitled «AKE MEN BALA: URPAKTAR SABAKTASTYGY» was held.

The event was aimed at popularizing the cultural and literary heritage of Abai, as well as demonstrating the continuity of generations through a scientific lens.

The meeting was attended by leading experts in the field of Abai studies: expert of the TURKSOY International Organization, member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, Professor Serikkazy Sybanbayuly Korabai and Candidate of Philological Sciences, First Deputy General Director of the «Almaty» Television and Radio Company Bazarbek Kairbekuly Atygaev.

The event was attended by students of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University.Abai, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as regular readers of the library.

The key objective of the meeting was to create a sustainable reading culture in the context of National Book Day, to increase youth interest in literature, increase readership, and stimulate the intellectual and spiritual growth of the younger generation. At the same time, an important element of the meeting was a deep understanding of the philosophical, literary and cultural heritage of Abai and Turagul as an integral part of the national identity of Kazakhstan.

The participants of the event received extensive and valuable information about the life and creative path of individuals. Within the framework of the meeting, quizzes were held with the awarding of memorable prizes, musical compositions and poems by Abai were performed, and poetry by Turagul was read. Of particular interest was the thematic exhibition, which featured rare archival materials and publications dedicated to the life and works of Abai and his son Turagul.
