On November 3 at 16:00 hours there at the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan will take place “The evening of Korean literature” within the framework of the work of the Book corner “The window to Korea”, organized jointly with the General consulate of Korea in Almaty city, under the aegis of the 30-th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the activity is the acquaintance with the culture, history, the widening of the borders of knowledge about the Korean literature and the strengthening of the humanitarian contacts between our countries. There to the activity are invited: the heads of the foreign diplomatic representations in Kazakhstan, the international companies, the state organizations, the writers and public figures, the mass-media.

“The evening of Korean poetry” will be opened by director of National library of the RK Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kayirbekovna, the General consul of the Republic of Korea in Almaty city Kim Hyng Soo, and also there will be performing the honorary guests of the activity.

There in the literary evening will participate the students from the faculty of Oriental studies of the Kazakh national university after Al-Farabi and the Kazakh university of international relations and world languages after Abylai khan. The students will read the works of the Korean authors in 4 languages of the world.

The activity will be accompanied by the performance of the artistes: the State republican academic Korean theatre of musical comedy, the Kazakh state academic theatre of drama after M. Auezov and the Kazakh state philharmonic society after Zhambyl.

There in the reading hall of world literature will be organized the book exhibition

“The Korean literature from the fond of National library of the RK”. There at the exhibition will be displayed: fiction, poetry and books on the history of Korea, and also the works of the Korean authors in Kazakhstan translated into the Kazakh and Russian languages and the translations of the books of the Kazakh writers into the Korean language.
