The National library of the RK is a member of the Non-commercial Partnership “The Library Assembly of Eurasia” from 1993.

    In 2001 at the Ninth session of the LAE in Moscow city of the Russian State Library the first President of the LAE was elected Berdigaliyeva R.A. (Director-General of the NLRK from 1987 to 2003).

    On April 10, 2003 there at the Russian State Library took place the session of the Coordination Bureau of the Library Assembly of Eurasia (LAE), on which there was taken a decision on the change of the organizational-legal basis of the Assembly and making it contingent with the new legislation of the member-states of the CIS. At the founding meeting there was unanimously adopted the draft-project of the Charter and approved the decision on the creation of the non-commercial partnership “The Library Assembly of Eurasia” (before 2003 the LAE was the International union of public associations).

    The founders of the non-commercial partnership “LAE” were the national libraries of the member-states of the CIS: the Russian State Library, the Russian National Library, the National library of Belarus, the National library of the Republic Kazakhstan, the National library of the Republic Kyrgyzstan, the National library of Ukraine after V.I.Vernadski, the Azerbaijani state library after M.F.Akhundov, the National library of the Republic Moldova.

    Director-General of the NLRK O.I.Issakhov on September 8, 2009 participated in the XI-th General Meeting of the non-commercial partnership “The Library Assembly of Eurasia” which took place in Cholpon-Ata city (Kyrgyzstan). There were discussed the issues of approval of “The conception of formation of the informational-library space on the basis of frontier libraries of the member-states of the CIS”, carrying out of the scientific-practical workshop on the indices of efficacy in the activity of the national libraries of the CIS, the project “The main trends of cooperation till 2015” and others.

   On September 23, 2013 there in Baku city within the framework of the celebration of the 90-th anniversary of the National library of Azerbaijan took place the official ceremony of the opening of the museum of the National library of Azerbaijan after M.F.Akhundov and 
the opening of the 3-rd Baku International book fair-exhibition, and also there was carried out the XV-th General meeting of the members of the Library Assembly of Eurasia. There at the plenary session of the LAE members were discussed the following issues: the perspective plan of development of the activity of all members of the Assembly till the year 2015, the plan for the implementation of the information-library space on the basis of the frontier libraries of the countries-participants of the CIS; the works carried out by the projects “The cupolas of the Commonwealth”, “The golden collection of Eurasia” etc., the perfection of the legal base of the humanitarian cooperation of the countries-participants of the CIS, the project of the Agreement on the creation of favorable conditions for the mutual exchange  of print production (the international book exchange and international interlibrary loan). There was considered 
the activity of the LAE for the last year.
   Also there at the session there were determined the place and time for the carrying out of the XVI-th General Meeting of the LAE in 2014.
