On February 20, 2019 at 11.00 a.m. in the hall named after N. Dauletova there was an evening of memory dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People's Artist of Kazakhstan Amina Umirzakova.

The event was held within the framework of the Club "Inzhu-marzhan", acting under the Department of Arts of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Umurzakova Amina Erguzhinovna was born on March 8, 1919 in aul Karaul, Abay region of the East Kazakhstan Oblast. In 1934 she arrived in the Leningrad state theatrical institute and graduated from it in 1938.

In 1938, after receiving her diploma, she was assigned to the Chimkent (now Shymkent) Regional Drama Theatre and worked until 1940. Her first theatrical roles were Marzhan in M.Auezov's play "Night Moves", Luisa in F.Schiller's play "Craftiness and Love", Bayan in the play "Kozy-Korpesh and Bayan-sulu" by G.Musrepov, Smeraldin in the play "Servant of Two Masters" by C.Goldoni.

In 1945, she got a job at the People's Youth Theater. She played most of the theatrical roles. In this theater she worked until her retirement.

In 1938, she first began acting in films, while still a student at the Leningrad Institute. But fame and prestige brought her first big role - Azhar, in the film "Songs of Abay", which appeared on the screens in 1945. This role is notable for the fact that for the first time the actress played one of the main characters. In the period from 1945 to 1963, she played a number of roles in the films: "Jambul" directed by E. Dzigan, "Jigit Girl" by P. Bogolyubov, "Winged Gift" by A. Slobodnik and E. Faik, "In one area" by Sh. Aimanov and many others.

In 1963, she played a major role in the film A. Karpov "Tale of a Mother". This role became one of the most successful in the career of the actress. This picture got the State Award of the Kazakh SSR, and the actress was awarded the Best Actress Award at the First All-Union Film Festival in Leningrad in 1964. After that, in the period from 1963 to 1968 she played roles in the films "The Beardless Deceiver", "The Most Obedient". In 1968 the film "Angel in the Skullcap" by Sh.Aimanov. She played the main female role in it. Great popularity was received, released in 1991, the picture of A. Chataeva "Mama Roza", for which the actress won the prize of the film festival "Constellation" for the best role of an elderly person.

In the village of Karaul, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the great Kazakh theater and movie actress Amina Umurzakova, a monument was opened. A memorial plaque was unveiled in Almaty to mark the 90th anniversary of the actress' birth.

Book-illustrative exhibition "Qazaq on life and creativity of A. Umurzakova" was organized within the limits of the event.

The evening was attended by famous artists of Kazakhstan E. Obayev, B. Esenaliev, R. Ashirbekova, K. Demesin, M. Tusupbayeva and others.
