From the 2nd to the 6th of September, 2019, specialists from library of the Akim of the Zhambyl district were trained at the Cataloguer School which created on the basis of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participants introduced themselves with international and national documents that govern the rules for compiling bibliographic and authority records, as well as with the basic provisions and general cataloging rules, and the particularities of cataloging specific types of documents. In practical classes considered the issues of cataloging periodicals, notes, cartographic, visual materials, electronic resources, dissertations, autoabstracts and cataloging complex books, for example, such as a flipbook, a book in two or three languages, materials from various conferences and group processing documents.

Participants were introduced to the work of all structural units of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Digital Technology Service demonstrated modern equipment for digitizing print media, and talked about the participation of the National Library in the replenishment of the Kazakhstan National Electronic Library (KazNEB).
