On December 24 the national library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as the IFLA/PAK Regional center for Central Asia, held an online meeting to summarize the results of the contract and discuss the work plan for 2021 with the all-Russian state library of foreign literature named after M. I. Rudomino (VGBIL), which is the IFLA/PAK Regional center for the CIS and Eastern Europe.

Despite the difficulties of 2020 associated with the coronavirus pandemic, the first year (since the conclusion of the contract) was rich and productive. Online meetings of two regional centers of IFLA/PAK (Kazakhstan and Russia) were held with the presentation of specialists in the field of document restoration and demonstration of equipment, an international round table "Conservation and restoration of handwritten and printed heritage" was held, which was attended by conservators of libraries in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and France. Also, specialists of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the Interdisciplinary scientific and practical conference "Book monuments in the aspect of preservation", held annually by the VGBIL named after M. I. Rudomino.

In the course of further negotiations, options for 2021 for holding seminars, trainings and master classes in the restoration of old paper documents were considered. We decided to expand cooperation between the two regional centers of IFLA / PAK. It was decided that in 2021, meetings and acquaintance with Uzbek and Turkish colleagues will be held in an online format, as well as master classes on conservation and restoration of specialists from Uzbekistan and Turkey, whose training is provided by the national library of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by the IFLA/PAK regional center for Central Asia. On the part of the VGBIL named after M. I. Rudomino and the Russian center IFLA / PAK for the CIS and Eastern Europe-meeting and conducting master classes on the preservation of books with Armenian and Belarusian colleagues.
