On April 20, as part of the celebration of the 185th anniversary of the establishment of the Akhmet-Zaki Walidi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan, an international scientific and practical conference "Library in the cultural space of the region: traditions and innovations" was held in Ufa, which was attended by the director and staff of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna made a welcoming speech and congratulated her colleagues on the significant date – the anniversary of the library. Also, the head of the Digital Technology Service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zh. A. Abenova, presented the report "Formation of electronic collections in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan", in which she focused on the collections "Kazakh Book in Arabic and Latin graphics" and "First periodicals of Kazakhstan", told about the library's participation in international projects on digitization.

The moderator was Uraksin Yuldash Zinnurovich, Director of the Akhmet-Zaki Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The conference was attended by heads and specialists of libraries in Russia, Uzbekistan and other countries, workers in the field of culture and science, representatives of state authorities.
