There in the reading hall after Oraz Zhandosov of the Service “Kazakstan kitaptary” is organized the exhibition dedicated to the Day of memory of victims of the political repressions “Aktandaktar turaly akikat”.

 In Kazakhstan each year on May 31 there is marked the most tragic event in the history of Kazakhstan – the Day of memory of victims of the political repressions which led to the death of the millions of people.

The total repressions, terror, deportations were the inseparable part of the Soviet system. It was demonstrated in the 1930-ss. There were not only the repressions and the labour camps, death sentences but also the social experiments that led to the deaths of millions of people. On December 30 in 1996 the President of Kazakhstan signed the Decree about the announcement of “The year 1997 of national agreement and the year of memory of the victims of the repressions and persecutions”. There in the document the events start from the year 1916 to the victims of the year 1986.

During the years of the repressions there in the camps of Kazakhstan passed more than 5 mln. people. There between the years 1920-1953 only in Kazakhstan were convicted more than 100 hundred thousand people, 25 thousand people were sentenced to death. There for the Kazakh people the total repressions were a difficult period.

There for all the groups of the people in the Soviet Union the representatives of all the nationalities became the victims. Among them there were: Turar Ryskulov, Nygmet Nurmakov, Sultanbek Khodzhanov, Uzakbai Kulymbetov, Oraz Zhandosov, Abilkaiyr Dosov, Smagul Sadvakasov, Temirbek Zhurgenov, Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Saken Seifullin, Iliyas Zhansugirov, Beimbet Mailin, Kudaibergen Zhubanov, Sanzhar Asfendiyarov and others.

Today in Kazakhstan there are the streets and state establishments named after these public figures. Their works are studied the pupils of the schools and the students, the scientists study them also. There in the country in their honour were established the memorials and monuments. In 1912 there in Nur-Sultan city timed for the Memory Day for the victims of the political repressions and persecutions. The monumental monuments remind the people about the hard times in the life of the country. In 1917 there in Almaty was opened the monument dedicated to the victims of the famine in 1931-1933. There for the day of the victims are held many activities, there are opened the exhibitions at the museums, in the libraries there are organized exhibitions and thematic reviews, there are put flowers to the monuments.

Kazakhstan became the native home for the many peoples who suffered from the deportation and terror. This helped for our ancestors to go through the hardships with courage and patience. The Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan became the symbol of the nation.

There at the exhibition named “Aktandaktar turaly akikat” there are offered the materials from the book fond of National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan which disclose the reasons of the political repressions in the history of the Kazakh people and there are also demonstrated the recollections of the relations of “the enemies of the people”.
