On June 16  National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan there with the work visit was visited by the Ambassador of India in the Republic of Kazakhstan Mrs. Shubdarshini Tripati, the  consul of the representation office of the Embassy of India in Almaty city Mr.Amit Kumar Mishra.

In the course of the visit the guests were acquainted with the Book corner of India, which was opened in 2005 in accordance with the Agreement between the Embassy of India in Kazakhstan and National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The fond of the Book corner is equipped with literature, albums, dictionaries in history, politics, economics, linguistics, medicine, art, philosophy etc.

There at the library at the present time are created good conditions for the reception of information about India and its national uniqueness. All the books in the Book corner of India are in the regime of free access for the readers. There for the purposes of modernization and development of the Book corner of India with the support of the Embassy of India in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2020 there was renovated the furniture and the technical equipment. 

There at the meeting director Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kayirbekovna acquainted the guests with the history and activity of National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the work and statistical data of the Book corner of India, and there were also discussed the issues of further cultural cooperation.
