On June 21 Deputy-Director for informational technologies and innovations of National library of the RK N.A. Iskaliyeva participated in the II international scientific-practical conference “The book and reading in the digital epoch”, which took place in Bishkek city (the Kyrgyz Republic) in the online-format.

N.A. Iskaliyeva made the report “The reading Kazakhstan – the reading nation. The project of National library of the RK”, in which she characterized the problems of reading in Kazakhstan, told about the activity of National library in getting younger generation becoming accustomed to reading and the activities held in “The year of support of children’s and youth’s reading”.

The organizers of the conference were the Interregional centre of library cooperation, the Russian committee of UNESCO Programme “Information for all”, National library and the Ministry of culture, information and tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.

There in the conference participated the representatives of the libraries, museums, theatres, publishing houses, public organizations, and also the politicians, writers and journalists from the states-participants of the CIS.
