In September 1928, the Kazakh Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) adopted a resolution to publish a newspaper in Kazakh language in Pavlodar. On December 17, the district party committee approved the name of the newspaper - Kenes tuy, and determined its staff.

On February 14, 1930, Kenes tuy was renamed Kolkhoz. When the Pavlodar region was established, the newspaper decided to call it Kyzyl Tu.

In 1991, on September 26, after Kazakhstan declared its independence, the editorial staff gave the newspaper a new name - Saryarka Samaly. The newspaper, together with the people, endured all the hardships of different times. The first five-year plans, creation of collective farms, the Great Patriotic War, postwar restoration of the national economy, development of virgin and fallow lands, creation of large enterprises in Pavlodar Pre-Irtyshye, construction of sovereign Kazakhstan - all these milestones of history are reflected in the newspaper.

Many talented people worked in the editorial office in different years. Among them are Kalizhan Bekhozhin, Zein Shashkin, Azilkhan Nurshaihov, Ramazan Toktarov and many others who became famous poets and writers. The older generation of journalists are front-line workers. Abylkair Baimoldin, an employee of Kyzyl tu, was a legendary regiment commander. Editors Azilkhan Nurshaihov and Subykan Shoshanov, deputy editors Zhylkaidar Karpikov and Karmukan Bekbergenov, executive secretary Baki Abdykadyrov, literary worker Kisa Arykov and others were decorated with military orders and medals. The staff who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War are remembered and honored in the newsroom. There is a memorial plaque with their names on it. The work of journalists was appreciated.

The editors B.B. Seisenbekov and A.M. Mukhamedzhanov, under whom Saryarka samaly switched to computer typing and layout, also contributed to the newspaper. Now Saryarka Samaly publishes a four-page insert, Aynalayyn. Young readers send letters, their creative works, poems and prose, tell about family and school affairs. The children's page holds an annual festival of children's art "Aynalaiyn", which is attended by hundreds of children from all districts of the region. The supplement "Zhas Times" is addressed to the grown-up readers of the children's page.

On March 5, 1979, Saryarka samaly newspaper was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 2000 with a letter of thanks from President Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, in 2014 with the national diploma "Golden Star" of the Academy of Journalists of Kazakhstan.

On October 25, 2016, the 15,000th issue of the Pavlodar regional newspaper "Saryarka samaly" was published. Today, Saryarka Samaly newspaper is published three times a week with a circulation of 16,000 copies.

The exhibition features anniversary issues of the newspaper, articles by famous writers and journalists dedicated to the newspaper "Saryarka samaly" on the pages of periodicals.
