On March 1, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, being the IFLA/PAC Regional Center for Central Asia, held the regular online meeting with the specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

The meeting was opened by Bakytzhamal Kyirbekovna Ospanova, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the IFLA/PAC Regional Center for Central Asia, she greeted the participants, and also congratulated everyone on the Thanksgiving Day and wished them professional success.

The work of the meeting began with the moment of silence in memory of the untimely deceased Salimov Maruf-ak, head of the restoration department of the Institute of Oriental Studies after Abu Raykhan Beruni of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of  Uzbekistan, the high-class professional, specialist and expert in the restoration of handwritten documents.

The Researcher at the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts. Makhtumkuli of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Guzali Pollykova presented the online master class on the topic: "Sewing kaptala in the Central Asian bindings."

Further, the coordinator of the IFLA/PAC Regional Center for Central Asia Sarsenbayeva Botagoz Shagalievna introduced the participants to the demonstration of presentations “Libraries. United Nations Sustainable Development Goals” and “Library Map of the World”.

The participants thanked Guzali Pollykova for the very important and useful master class.
