On April 30 of this year, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a presentation of a short biographical reference book «Heroes of Kazakhstan» by Aidarkhan Zhadykov, prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The book was published under the state program and with the support of the Committee on Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The presentation was opened by the Head of the Book Business Department of the Committee on Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Myrzakhmet.  The author of the biographical reference book, A. Zhadykov, shared his materials about the Heroes of the Soviet Union and the National Heroes included in the book. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor H. Abzhanov; Director of the Central State Archive S. Shildebai; Deputy editor-in-chief of the publishing house «Mektep», which published the book, A. Ospanova; member of the Council of Veterans, veteran of Labor K. Letnikova shared information about Kazakhstani heroes who showed great courage during the war and expressed their gratitude to the author. The event was moderated by writer, member of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, employee of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Altynbekov.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, employees of the Political work department of the Almaty city branch of the «Amanat» Party, family members and descendants of veterans included in the biographical directory, military personnel of military unit №0111, students of the Almaty National Medical College, library readers.
