On the 11th of May at the Hall of Religion and Traditions a creative meeting of famous zhyrau, cultural figure Serik Suyundyk devoted to the popularization of poetic art of Zhetysu "Onirlik zhyr mektebi - Ulttyk tarbienin tamyry" was held.

Serik Suyundyk taught a traditional genre class at the Tekes Art School in Raiymbek district of Almaty region and taught children for several years. He currently works in the District Department of Culture. He contributed greatly to the modernization of the school, popularizing the art of famous akyns-zhyrau such as the legendary Kodek akyn, Boltirik Atykhanuly, Kulanayak Kulmanbet, Sary Shuash in the region.

The event was opened by Karabayev Kurmet, specialist of the Exhibition and Cultural Programs Service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the creative meeting S. Suyundyk introduced the participants with the initiated project, the training program and the prospective work plan of the School of Arts.

Excerpts from poems by Jetysu poets were performed at the event by: a singer, composer, excellent culture, director of Karakemer Rural House of Culture Araylym Myrbekkyzy, an artist of Kegen District House of Culture Baybal Nurym, music director of Karakemer Rural House of Culture Kali Ulan, a singer of folk instruments ensemble "Zhazerke" of Uygur District House of Culture Zhanargul Ashimova.

Speakers: director, satirist, head of the humorous theater "Terskakpai" Askar Naimantayev; poet, holder of the Presidential Award and Order "Kurmet", head of the Almaty branch of Kazakh radio and radio "Shalkar" Bakhyt Zhagyparuly; journalist, deputy chief editor of "Akikat" magazine Dina Imambayeva; journalist Altynai Turdybekkyzy.

Participants: poets-writers, poets of Raiymbek, Kegen, Uygur, Enbekshikazakh districts, librarians of Aktobe region, media representatives and others.
