In the period from April 1 to April 26, 2024, 45 specialists from Aktobe, Pavlodar and Ulytau regions, as well as the Centralized Library System of the city of Karaganda, completed a training course at the Cataloguer School at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The students got acquainted with international and national cataloging documents, rules for compiling bibliographic records, the processes of creating and forming electronic catalogs and databases, as well as issues of organizing the acquisition of library collections, reference and information services, etc. Lectures and practical classes were held on working with modules from the Web-RABIS library and information system.

During the training, the students exchanged their work experience and took an active part in library events.

An introductory tour of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Centralized Library System of Almaty was organized for the students. At the end of the course, the students were awarded certificates.

To replenish the fund of the Regional Universal Library of the Ulytau region, literature from the exchange reserve fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan was donated.
