December 8 at the hall named after N. Dauletova held an evening of creativity "San Kyrly Suretker", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the prominent Kazakh writer, playwright and winner of the International Literary Award "Alash" Sopha Smataeva.

The event opened with writer Sophia Smatayev's own monologue.

The moderator was Bolat Junusbekov, Scientific Secretary of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Laureate of the International Literary Award "Alash".

The event was addressed by: scientist-literary scholar, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Temirkhan Tebgenov; poet, UNESCO International Prize Laureate Zhumash Kenebay; Chairman of Kazakhstan Pilgrims Association Erkin Dunayev; literary scholar, head of Kazakhstan Young Writers and Artists Association, President of World Writers Union Gulkhan Aitakynkyzy; famous Kazakh film actor, lecturer of Theater Art Department of Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. K. Zhurgenov Abu Yergenbay and others.

The event also featured songs performed by Tanjaryk Ormanbekov of the National Library of Kazakhstan. Young specialists of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aihanym Abilkairova and Marzhan Nusupzhanova, as well as a first-year student of journalism at the "Turan" University Marziya Zein recited poems by S. Smatayev. Shalkar Aksakal, a first-year journalism student at Turan University, dedicated his poem to Sofa Smataev.

As part of the event was organized by the book exhibition "San kyrly suretker", which presented materials about the life and work of the writer, his works and publications from the collection of the National Library of Kazakhstan.
