Zhandosov reading room of the «Kazakhstan Kitaptary» Service, as part of the republican campaign in 2024 «One Country – one Book», a book exhibition «Balalar adebiyetinin bayteregi» was organized, dedicated to the famous children's writer, poet, screenwriter Berdibek Sokpakbayev and his literary work.

In the O. Zhandosov reading room of the «Kazakhstan Kitaptary» Service, as part of the republican campaign in 2024 «One Country – one Book», a book exhibition «Balalar adebiyetinin bayteregi» was organized, dedicated to the famous children's writer, poet, screenwriter Berdibek Sokpakbayev and his literary work.

The republican campaign «One Country – one Book» has been held in Kazakhstan since 2007. In 2024, as part of the republican campaign, the works of the outstanding Kazakh writer, classic of children's literature Berdibek Sokpakbayev were offered for reading. The 100th anniversary of Berdibek Sokpakbayev was included in the UNESCO Calendar of Commemorations for 2024.

The purpose of the campaign is to promote the best works of national literature, preserve the spiritual heritage, introduce young people to it, as well as increase public interest in the work of Kazakhstani writers.

Berdibek Sokpakbayev was born in 1924 in Narynkol district of Almaty region. In 1949 he graduated from the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute named after Abai. In 1950-1952 he worked as a teacher in Narynkol district. From 1952-1955 he was the editor of the «Kazakhfilm» film studio, in the editorial office of the magazines «Baldyrgan» and «Zhuldyz». In the work of Berdibek Sokpakbayev, a special place is occupied by the description of the life of the village during and after the Great Patriotic War, the dreams and love of rural youth. Widely known: collection «Bulak» (1950); books «On alty zhasar champion» (1951); «Alystagy auylda» (1953); novellas and novels «Оlgender kaityp kelmeidi» (1967,1974); «Menin atim – Kozha» (1957,1972). Based on this children's story, an artistic film was shot at the «Kazakhfilm» film studio, which received a special prize at the International Festival of Children's and Youth Films in Cannes in 1967. A number of B. Sokpakbayev's works have been translated into the languages of the peoples of the near and far abroad.

The book exhibition consists of three sections. The first section of the book exhibition «Akikattan aynymagan kalamger» reflects materials about the life and work of Berdibek Sokpakbayev: encyclopedias, biographical reference books and literature about him. 

The second section «Balalyk shaktyn bal tili» introduces readers to the works of fiction by the children's writer, published in different years in various publishing houses, such as: «Zhekpe-zhek» (1962), «Kaidasyn, Gauhar?» (1977), «Menin atym – Kozha» (1978), «Olgender kaityp kelmeidi» (1979), «Balalyk shakka sayakhat» (2005), (2010) and others.

The third section «Beren talent iesi» presents articles by famous writers of Kazakhstan about Berdibek Sokpakbayev: «Tauelsizdik rukhymen» (2002), «Arystar men agystar» (2003), «Berdibek Sokpakbayev turaly estelikter» (2005), «Kalamdastar, karailastar» (2021), etc.
