On January 22, 2024, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the international conference «Heydar Aliyev – Youth Policy», organized jointly with the representative office of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.

The purpose of the event is to show that the policy of the prominent figure of Azerbaijan, former President of the country Heydar Aliyev towards youth has its continuation. The current President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, is successfully continuing his father's business.

The event was moderated by Bakhyt Zhagiparuly, laureate of the prize of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the Almaty branch of «Kazakh Radio» and radio «Shalkar».

Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Library Union, holder of the Order of «Kurmet», Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna opened the event with a welcoming speech, noting that cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries is developing at a high level and joint projects are being successfully implemented.

The event featured a presentation of a short video dedicated to the life and work of Heydar Aliyev, as well as a video message from the People's writer of Kazakhstan, director of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO, an outstanding statesman and public figure, Turkologist Olzhas Suleimenov.

The conference was attended by: Head of the Representative Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Almaty Huseynzade Anar Nadir oglu; Chairman of the Republican Association of Azerbaijanis of Kazakhstan Abilfas Hamedov; Deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nagif Gamzayev; poet, translator, member of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, excellent student of information, culture, winner of the «Serper» Prize Sayat Kamshyger; professor of the Hajitepe University of Turkey, Visiting Professor of KazNU University, Doctor of Historical Sciences Mehmet Dervish Kylynchkaya.

Also, reports on the topic «Heydar Aliyev: lessons of the future and the rapprochement of cultures» were made by: Head of the Department of External Relations of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures, Doctor of Philosophy Igor Krupko and Associate Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Myrzakhan Igamberdiev.

Within the framework of the conference, a photo exhibition on the life and work of Heydar Aliyev was organized, presented from the photo agency of the President of Azerbaijan (Azertac), as well as a book exhibition from the collections of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participants: famous public figures, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Azerbaijani diaspora, intellectuals, university students and the media.
