On February 28, a round table meeting dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the «Nevada-Semey» anti-nuclear movement was held at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The moderator of the event was Valery Aitmukashevich Zhandauletov, a well-known journalist, vice-president of the «Nevada-Semey» anti-nuclear movement.
The round table was attended by representatives of the anti-nuclear movement «Nevada-Semey» from Aktobe, Semey, Karaganda, Turkestan, who paid special attention to work in the regions.
The following speakers also spoke: ecologist, public figure, chairman of the environmental movement «Tabigat» Mels Eleusizov, ecologist Yeraly Kuttybekov and other scientists.
As part of the event, students of the Almaty College of Transport and Communications read poems by Olzhas Suleimenov.
The event was attended by environmental scientists, students, readers, and media representatives.
