On April 23, as part of the annual book festival «Kitapshow-2024» dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day, a literary-themed evening «Kazakhstan – Iran: Harmony of cultures «Nauryznamа» was held jointly with the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty and the Iranian Cultural Center.

The event was attended by: Mr. Fagani Mohsen, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, Mr. Hossein Aghazade, Director of the Iranian Cultural Center, T.E. Kydir, Deputy Director General of the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Head and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Iranian Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University A.Zh.Boranbayeva and G.A.Kambarbekova.

An intellectual quest quiz «Nauryz» was held at the event and material about the celebration of Nauryz in Kazakhstan was presented. A book exhibition «Nauryz – a holiday of peace and harmony» was organized and reviewed by specialists of the World Literature Service, as well as librarians and students read poems dedicated to the holiday in 5 languages of the world and the Farsi language.

The event was attended by teachers and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, students of the gymnasium  №86 named after G.Musrepov, gymnasium №140 named after M.Makatayev, readers and guests of the library.

Musical performances by students of the Republican Kazakh Specialized Boarding School for Gifted Children named after A.Zhubanov were performed at the evening.

 The active participants of the event and the winners of the quest game were presented with letters of thanks, books from the library and gifts from the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty and the Iranian Cultural Center.
