On April 23, 2024, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the annual book festival «Kitapshow – 2024», dedicated to the World Book and Copyright Day. A book fair was organized as part of the event.

The purpose of the book fair is to bring together publishers, book distributors and writers on one site, establish close ties with Kazakhstani publishing houses, and popularize works and new books by Kazakhstani authors.

More than 20 domestic publishing houses and bookstores took part in the book fair, including «Almatykitap», «Arman-PV», «Atamura», «Kokzhiyеk-Horizont», «Kazakh University», «Otbasy chrestomatiyasy», «Ziyat», «ADAL KITAP», «Qasym baspa uyi», «Molia&Dos», Republican public association of parents «Senimen bolashak», public foundation «Qyr balasy», рublic Foundation «Community Plus» and bookstores «Dudar kitap», «Kitap al», «Qazyna», M. O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art.  Readers and residents of the city who visited the book fair got acquainted with the new books of publishing houses and purchased the necessary books. All institutions that took part in the book fair were awarded letters of thanks from the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the cultural event, a well-known public figure, political scientist, publicist Dosym Satpayev presented valuable books «Ashtyk Zhailagan dala», «The Uprising of the Kazakhs in 1916», «Song of Cuman», «Political Science», etc. to the library fund.
