Today, the National Library hosted a memorial evening «Men bakytty akynmyn!» dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet, laureate of the International Literary Prize «Alash», knight of the Order of «Kurmet» Orazakyn Askar.
The memorial evening was attended by: Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan Galym Kalibekuly, poet Adilgazy Kayyrbekov, children's writer Dildar Mamyrbayeva, writer Zhusipbek Korgasbek, Zhuldyz Makatayev and other representatives of the creative intelligentsia. They talked about Orazakyn Askar's contribution to Kazakh literature and poetry, the value of his works, and talked about events to promote the poet's rich creative heritage.
Within the framework of the event, a book and photo exhibition «Orazakyn Askar – 90 zhyl» was organized, dedicated to the life and work of the poet. The exhibition featured more than 20 works and about 40 collections of poetry by the poet from the collection of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, works and articles published in different years on the pages of various periodicals.
The event was attended by public figures, poets and writers, the writer's family, and soldiers of the National Guard.
